Final Day: Saturday 7/7/12

​The Finals Day BBQ will take place on Saturday the 7th of July. The first matches will start at 2pm (to be confirmed, subject to change) with the Final of the Cup competition expected to be played at around 4:30/5:00 pm. However this is of course dependent on all games running to schedule.

​

There will be (as the name suggests) a BBQ running for the games and the Bar in the Club will also be open. Shower and changing facilities will be provided for both Men and women and we would urge people to stay up at the club for the night. The presentation of prizes will take place that evening (time to be confirmed but we will allow enough time for peopleto go home and change for those who do not want to change in the club) in the club house followed by entertainment (details to be confirmed but expect DJ/ Themed night etc.) to finish the Tag season.

Prizes include Winners and Runners-Up of the Cup Competition, Winners of the Shield, Top Try scorer for both men and women, Player of the tournament for both men and women, Person of the Match for the Final of the Cup, and of course the Wooden Spoon!!!!!!!!!

Last round of preliminary league to be played on Final Day:

2:00           Jackson                    v.    McCormack

This will conclude the League tournament with every team having played each other exactly once (8 games each). The exceptions to this are Arthur’s team and Jackson’s team who both forfeit one match (i.e. the game against each other) as a result of not turning up for one week each. Any team that does not turn up in the 3rd or 4th weeks will automatically forfeit both their matches in that week by a score of 3 points to nil.

After the final round of matches the league table will be finalised and the Knockout tournament will begin. Teams will compete in either the Main Cup competition (1st-5th) or in the Shield Competition. The top 3 teams will go directly into the Cup Semi Finals. The 4th and 5th place teams in the league table will play in a Qualifier match (ie Quarter final) with the winner taking the final semi final spot and the loser going out of the tournament.

The bottom 4 teams (i.e. 6th 7th 8thand 9th) will play each other in the Shield Semi finals. The winners of the Shield Semi Finals will go into the Final and the losers will play in the “Wooden Spoon” Match, the loser of which will take home the tournaments least coveted Prize.
